I've said on many an occasion that One foot in the Grave is one of my very favourite sitcoms, mainly because it combines out and out fun and laughter, with sadness, seriousness, and an often black humour.

Those elements are showcased wonderfully well in this episode. It truly boasts a wealth of original funny ideas, and a tonne of wonderful surrealism. The Garden gnomes provide true belly laughs, that wonderful line 'it's like sleeping in Snow White's Cottage. There's the sad realisation of a vicar who's lost his faith, and there's the utter tragedy of the woman who's lost her husband, and then there's that tear jerking ending. No wonder it's so highly regarded, this is pure brilliance.

However, he is still on call and therefore stuck at home all day. Can he survive the boredom? Since I'm a fan of the television show, I could easily visualize each scene. I enjoy the witty dialogue.

So much fun! Anyone who has the DVD box set, this is a great companion and well worth a listen This was just like listening to the episodes of the TV show. There's lots of laughs to be had. This is well worth a watch, but does fall down when the audience obviously laugh at visual comedy. You are left wondering what just happened. Very funny! Victor's reactions to the incredible things that happen to him are brilliant.

I totally enjoyed this from beginning to end. It took me back to when I was younger and I used to watch it with my mum and I enjoyed this just as much as I enjoyed watching on tv. I will definitely be listening to this again and recommending it to everyone.

It's a bit of sunshine and laughter in this depressing world and I just wish it was longer. Great to listen to, relax by and will be looking for similar radio 4 type plays. Have seen it so many times on TV, was nice to see it played out on the stage in my mind's eye for a change!
