Similarly as you said when it comes to money zeroes after a number has lot of value as it can even change the life of one. But in these two cases stated by me there is another digit along with it to make the zero valuable. I think the statement "zero in life" is used just because the digit zero is of no value if it stands alone. But if something is added to it then it becomes the most useful digit.
Regards Chitra "Do not give up, things might not favour you always". Zero the word itself unique that it starts with the letter Z and it has significance when it is money, or numbers even in numbers the easiest for calculations are ended with zeros only so if for any student who wanted to do sum on bigger numbers always wanted the end digit to be zero only.
Also people may say jovially if teacher put zero for any question, student say him as 'hen' as zero resembles egg. Nice to be in ISC and feel the difference. But, there are situations in real life where you use numbers that are less than zero.
Some of their real-life applications are given below. Temperature is a physical quantity expressing the hotness and coldness. Temperature is measured with a thermometer and there are various temperature scales and units of measurement.
Negative numbers are used often to represent credit in the banking system. A negative bank balance indicates that the money has been overdrawn. Without the concept of zero as a number, none of this would be possible. If you liked this story, sign up for the weekly bbc. Share using Email.
By Hannah Fry 6th December Nothing lies at the heart of science, engineering and mathematics. Nothing as in zero, of course. It took two millennia for zero, with all its mathematical brilliance, to be accepted as a proper number. In , zero was banned in Florence, along with all Arabic numerals. Calculus is used to describe how pretty much anything changes — and it relies on the concept of zero.
