If you're importing a batch of files I'd suggest you create a new notebook so you can easily batch delete notes and try again if necessary.
If it's a lot of notes, you might make that a local notebook initially too, and transfer files into synced notebooks at the end of your upload limit month so's not to use up your limit in one hit. Any file dropped in here will be imported into the Evernote notebook you specified during setup. You can have several Import Folders if necessary, serving different notebooks. I believe haven't tested recently that TXT files will appear as standard text within the notebook, with the file name as the title, but ymmv Recommended Posts.

According to Catch. Now, as you've all heard, Catch is disbanding. Now that I'm going to Evernote, I have downloaded all my notes from Catch in an enex file, which they say is for import into Evernote, but I cannot find an import command.
If anyone has some reality on this process it would be helpful. I get the feeling this question is going to be asked a lot for a while. It's always helpful to mention which client you're using. It may even still be beta??? So importing may not be added to that client yet. As far as I know it functions like most other Windows desktops, what is the mechanism for importing the enex file? The first thing to say is "you cannot import your old notes from within the app, you must download the Evernote desktop program. The import command is under "File" as expected. Once your notes are imported choose sync and the website and your other devices. But as my sig indicates, I have no affiliation with EN. I am just a user like yourself. Thank you!
That import with the desktop app worked perfectly! I've been looking around to see which app to go with, but since everything imported I will give Evernote a "go". The format of the extract makes it difficult because I found myself having to import them individually. I created a python script to ease the catch notes import.
The script merges all the notes into one All Notes Gathered folder. From there you can import them all in one go. Also thought I would mention a feature i found for Windows users who don't want to import one note at a time with that you didn't mention:.
NOTE: this method seems to remove the original date of the note and have all notes showing with the date imported instead. I have recently imported catch notes to evernote. But the tagging was not happening automatically. So, I wrote a simple script to do it. The import works but the catch file does not have the jpeg images just an HTML file with an inbedded image. I had to down loade each pic, what a pain. I have to say, I overlooked the fact that Catch Notes already includes a per space notes.
You can import it that way. I bet the note dates will work. I've updated my script too. It only brings over the space notes. And, attachments are supported They are all brought over into one attachment directory.
The script now works on your unextracted Catch Notes Export. This way you can look at the file name, type the title into evernote search and re-attach the attachment to the related note. Nothing works! Did you try these steps? Of course, I've tried this method and the python script. I suspect that it might be with notes with only voice memo. Please suggest how to import those? I have quite a lot of them. My first thought is go to the note. Open it up in the text editor, compare it to another note. If is just a matter of missing text in one of the xml tags, try entering some text, save the file, and attempt to import it.
If it is a whole tag that is missing, try adding the tag and reimporting it. When we come to an understanding of the problem, I'd like to include the fix in my script. I plan to support an automated process for uploading attachments.
I would use the evernote api to do it, as suggested by venkatgig's post quoted below about automating tags; it would require the person running the script to get a developer token ; but, I imagine it will be worth it to them. I plan to work on it Thursday. Your question about multiple zip files comes as a surprise to me. Here is my presumption: each person has to download only one zip of their catch notes and that is the only zip they care about; all the attachments are in that zip. Let me know if I'm missing something.
Davious, I wrote my notes in spanish. Could it be allied with the issue? I see strange characters instead of accents, it happens too in Excel. Maybe it's a Catch export tool problem. My other notes folders that doesn't fail are very short and I can't compare properly. Can I send you my notes before applying the script to make yourself a comparison? Kind regards. A lot of thanks. An important thing for some, that would be good to include in any update: the Modified Date is present in the enex, but evernote import replaces it with today. Can this proper date be used rather than today, by your script?
