How many times to say affirmations

Choose your number according to how many goals you focus on at a time and do whatever works best for your daily routine. Later in this post, I show you a few ways to combine goals when setting up your affirmation message so you can try out different things and decide on your own way.

You can always tweak it even further and make it more personal to apply to your life situation. In any case, better use fewer affirmations and let them sink in than use a ton and forget them right away!

We wish many different things: from attracting money and being successful in business to being happier and healthier overall. You may want a dream apartment, a dream job, to become more confident, to exercise more often, or to get more travel opportunities.

You can start with one affirmation and build it into a habit first, then add more. Ask yourself: if I choose to work on this one thing only, am I fine with everything else in my life staying the same a year later?

If the answer is no, consider focusing on more than one goal at a time. It depends on what kind of person you are and how well you can organize your day, but I think working on up to three big goals at a time is pretty manageable. They say it takes 10 hours to become an expert at something. So if you take that time and put it into one goal, the result has to be awesome! But if you divide that same time between 10 or 20 goals, then it will take much more time and effort to achieve any of them.

For example, when it comes to becoming healthier, many people myself included tend to go all in and do every possible measure at once. So you start to exercise daily, add some jogging, do cardio workouts, strength training with weights, HIIT programs, and more, until you are so exhausted that you stop everything at once.

So you cut sugar, stop drinking coffee, cut carbs, add protein powder to your drinks, start drinking gallons of water, stop eating meat, quit alcohol, try fasting techniques, and so on… Until there is basically nothing left for you to eat. You can totally transform yourself into a person you want to be, but it has to be a gradual transformation. Let your mind and body get used to every aspect of a new you, one at a time. Then add a new rule if you want, but not all at once.

In the meantime, you can work on other areas of your life, like business or relationships. At least until you get used to working towards them all and find yourself being able to spare time for more activities. You can easily combine a few affirmations from different areas of your life in one strong message, or say them separately during the day.

Pick a handful of random affirmations from there every day and either repeat them or pick others the next day. Bookmark that page and get back to it whenever you need more ideas. They elevate your mood and self-belief, keep you open to opportunities, and set your intentions, but you still have to keep a growth mindset and work towards your goals every day in order to achieve great results. Finding the best positive affirmations really depends what you are working on to change, how resistant to change your subconscious is, and what your goal is.

Although there is no hard and fast rule, affirmations work best when you repeat them at least three times a day. The best times are right upon waking up, just before going to sleep, and anytime you meditate, or are in a reflective state. After each round of affirmations, let them go.

Changing your accumulated thoughts and beliefs wired into your brain for many years, is not an overnight practice. Can you write down affirmations? How do you know if affirmations are working? Why affirmations are not working? How many affirmations should I say a day? Does listening to affirmations work? Do you say your affirmations out loud? Do affirmations work for anxiety?

How can I improve my confidence and anxiety? To some, saying your affirmation message once when you wake up is enough to set the intention for the day and get to work. Others need a longer session to convince themselves of the possibility of change.

In general, say an affirmation as many times as you need to truly believe in what you say. Most importantly, create a daily habit of saying affirmations with emotion and also repeat them when you need extra support in difficult situations. Sadly, there are some life coaches out there who assure their clients that repeating positive affirmations parrot-fashion every day will drastically change their lives.

If you meet one, run! Affirmations work through emotion and meaningfulness you put into saying them. When you just say words without thinking, this is exactly what it is: just saying words. We know that almost everything good in life is achieved through hard work and dedication. They will help to develop a success mindset and open your brain to new opportunities, but you need to put some work into it too.

According to my calculations, an average one-sentence affirmation takes somewhere between 1 and 7 seconds to say meaningfully. This means it may take up to two hours of your time to do it a thousand times. Set up your positive attitude and go do something useful to change your life!

Generally speaking, everything we say to ourselves, whether good or bad, are affirmations. The trick here is to recognize the negative thinking patterns and replace them with positive statements and emotions.
