But you need oxygen to burn fuel, and there is a limited amount of oxygen in the air we breathe, which limits the amount of fuel an engine can burn per revolution. How does a supercharger fix this? Simple, it compresses air. If you squeeze twice as much air into a given volume, that volume will contain twice as much oxygen as it did before. Twice as much oxygen means you can burn twice as much fuel and so in theory extract twice as much energy and produce twice as much power.
Forced induction engines, however, have their cylinder capacity force filled forced induction and so properly designed exhaust collectors and intakes become much less important for achieving a higher engine VE Force-feeding an engine can result in VE percentages as high as you like.
Superchargers themselves also have volumetric efficiency and adiabatic efficiency In short, then, a supercharger 'shoves' compressed air and so more oxygen molecules into your engine, allowing you to inject and burn more fuel per revolution resulting in more power. We have installed and tuned various brands and types of superchargers on Mustangs in the UK here at Motorsport and Performance.
If you are looking to have an install supplied and carried out by us, just contact us to discuss your preferred brand or if you are undecided we can discuss your requirements and make suggestions. How much power you can achieve when supercharging your Mustang is limited only by the depth of your pockets. If you dream of bhp before you die or whp before it kills you, then that's fine, get in touch, and we can talk about your options.
If you found this blog useful but aren't looking for a supercharger, remember we are as passionate about building NA Mustangs and Turbocharged Mustangs as we are about supercharging them so if you are looking for more power but don't want a supercharger that's no problem. Get in touch, and we'll help you decide on a plan of action to get to where you imagine yourself going with your car.
Store Manufacturer Ford Audi. Tuning HP Tuners. Ford Mustang Mach 1 Focus Fiesta. Hoping to get car back this week.

MrOldschool45 MrOldschool I agree with ForYourOwnGood, send it man. Don't listen to any negativity about it. Myself, I'm a low interest rate credit card warrior. Congrats on actually saving cash.
You'll love the supercharger. Take care. TripleB said:. DTeal23 Well-Known Member. I assume you bought your house with greenbacks?
Wolvee said:. Well, I'd rather not spend a whole lot of money on a supercharger at once, it's not an emergency need. I prefer to save more of my money. Is it that hard to understand? For anyone saying if you have to finance it you shouldn't be buying it. That's just the dumbest thing I've heard. I want to spend money buying a second car which would be an hybrid car, surely I could have dumped that money on the supercharger instead but whatever.
Anyway, the car is paid off so definitely I can afford it. If you arent looking for a huge HP gain just get a reliable shop to slap a turbo kit on there and run like 6 or 7 PSI. If u do turbo it make sure its a top mounted turbo. If you boost the shit out of the car with like 15 or 20 PSI then do a motor rebuild.
Mustangs are drag cars not drift cars. Honestly, if you look for a HP gain of more than 80 to then your eventually gonna ruin the car if you dont do internal work. Like i said earlier, if its a daliy driver dont do to much supercharger or turbo work. Josh answered 13 years ago. Robert answered 13 years ago. Phillip answered 13 years ago. I think yo can only bolt a supercharger to a mustang. It's better than a turbo anyway. Tom answered 13 years ago. Air enter the engine the same way and will atomize fuel the same way. Supercharge it they work better for gas engines tubos work best with high compression or diesel engines. Alex answered 13 years ago.
Trevor answered 12 years ago. Just to let u know u can put a supercharger on pretty much everything and i know for sure u can turbo anything that a combustion engine.
And a turbo is better cause your not creating boost while at a steady speed unlike a supercharger. A turbo only creates boost when accelerating. So in turn more fuel efficient.
